How to Connect Two Computers With One Modem

Do you have a broadband modem?

All you need are.....
1. Two computers to connect to one modem.
2. A modem similar to the one pictured above.
3. An Ethernet cable and a USB cable.
4. An installation CD to install through USB connection

Now lets get started.

You can connect two computers to a modem with the help of a broadband modem and you can get one from your internet service provider (ISP) and this can be done without the need of a router. Your ISP must provide you a installation disk for the modem.... You can take a look at the picture above to see the kind of modem am talking about..
One can be connected through the USB port and the second computer can also be connected through the Ethernet. A USB cable and Ethernet cable should always come with the modem, however to connect the second computer you may need to get a long Ethernet cable. Get a blue cable.. NOT yellow or red. The blue one is a Crossover cable and the others will be the Patch cables. They have the same connections on them but do different jobs.
To connect a computer to a broadband modem through USB, it is recommended that you make use the of the installation cd. It will ask you to choose how you want to connect and you select USB. Make sure you know your user name and password for your internet service provider. To connect the second computer to the same modem through the Ethernet, just plug it in, It usually works straight away. If it does not, use the installation cd, but choose to connect with Ethernet....
This is a phenomenon i practiced and it works and I guess this should help you too on how to connect one modem to two computer.
